Personal Information and Privacy

 

As a service provider in the province of BC, Bethesda complies with three governing Acts that ensure a citizen’s right to privacy:

1) The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA) here…

2) Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) here…

3) The Child, Family and Community Service Act (Part 5) here…

 

 

We have a clear obligation to inform people what personal information is collected and for what purposes, to store the information securely, to be clear about who has access to that information and to inform people what information will be shared in what circumstances.

 

We also have an obligation to let each person receiving services have access to information about them and to request that inaccurate information be corrected.
